ACB 80 Results and Highlights: Tumenov Solidifies Title Shot | Bagov Out-Grapples Silva

Absolute Championship Berkut visited Krasnodar, Russia with their 80th event (ACB 80). The card was originally set to be headlined by a Welterweight title fight between Mukhamed Berkhamov and Albert Tumenov. However, the champion Berkhamov sustained an injury and had to be replaced by  UFC and Bellator veteran Nah-Shon Burrell. In the co-main event, long time ACB stand out Ali Bagov squared off against UFC veteran Leandro Silva. The card also featured a number of recognizable names, such as former ONE champion Igor Sivrid, Alexander Sarnavskiy and Takuya Mizugaki.

Albert Tumenov (19-4) def. (UD) Nah-Shon Burrell (15-9)

In the main event of the evening, Albert Tumenov solidified his title shot with an impressive performance over a game Nah-Shon Burrell. Throughout the whole fight, Tumenov’s slick boxing caused a ton of problems for Burrell. It was Tumenov’s bodywork that did the most damage as he repeatedly butchered Burrell’s body with punishing hooks. Burrell, however, never quit and kept throwing but all of his attempts to get back into the fight were quickly shut down.

Ali Bagov (25-10) def. (UD) Leandro Silva (21-7)

The co-main event saw Ali Bagov put on a grappling clinic on Leandro Santos. At the start of the first round, Bagov secured a takedown and kept top position for the majority of the round. The second round started as the repeat of the first with Bagov controlling Silva on the ground, however, the Brazilian was able to reverse the position halfway through. In the final round, Silva came out quickly and immediately got taken down which lead to Bagov’s most dominant round. The Russian threatened to finish the fight after securing mount but Silva was able to survive until the final bell.
