According to Paulo Costa, His Fight with Uriah Hall Rebooked for UFC 226

According to an Instagram post from Paulo “The Eraser” Costa himself, the scratched bout between Costa and Uriah “Primetime” Hall is back on. Following the fight being scratched from its originally scheduled date, which was this Saturday at UFC Atlantic City, the bout was rescheduled for UFC 226.

The English translation of the post reads similarily to what follows:

“July 7 in Las Vegas.

I’m at the head of my recovery @drleonidasneto (specialist in injuries and perforamce improvement) and @fabriciotoni (physiotherapist and chiropractor specialist in rehabilitation of athletes)

You from BH look for the best too, I point out.”

Costa (11-0 MMA, 3-0 UFC), 26, is undefeated throughout his career. Since debuting in the UFC at March of 2017, Costa has amassed three knockouts over Garreth McLellan, Oluwale Bamgbose, and former UFC welterweight champion, Johny Hendricks, respectively.

The heavy-handed Brazilian has yet to see the third round in his career, finishing all of his eleven wins by first or second round knockout (with the exception of a 2016 first round submission).

He’ll face one of the stiffest tests of his career against Uriah Hall.

Hall (13-8 MMA, 6-6 UFC), 33, has had mixed results in his UFC career to date. As many MMA pundits have asserted, Hall fluctuates between being an unstoppable striker and unfocused fighter. This is evident in his career, which sports equal spurts of winning and losing streaks.

Most recently, Hall dug deep to return from a losing effort against Krzysztof Jotko en route to a convincing second round technical knockout.

It will be interesting to see which version of Uriah Hall shows up for this UFC 226 matchup. Hopefully for both the fans and Hall himself, it’s the version of him that compiled an unimaginable highlight reel.

This fight will gauge Hall’s future with the company as a contender, and see just how high the ceiling is for Paulo “The Eraser” Costa.
