Al Iaquinta vs. Paul Felder Added to UFC 218 in Detroit
The speculation is finally over. At UFC 218 in Detroit on December 2nd, “Raging” Al Iaquinta (13-3-1, 8-2 UFC) will take on Paul “The Irish Dragon” Felder (14-3, 6-3 UFC) in a pivotal lightweight clash. The bout had been rumored on Twitter after both men sent out cryptic tweets hinting at the fight. The Detroit Free Press confirmed and broke the news on their website earlier today.
Felder last competed at UFC Fight Night: Glasgow, where he viciously knocked out hometown hero Stevie Ray with a brutal elbow. Felder is known to MMA fans for his exciting fighting style and toughness, something that falls right in line with Long Island’s Al Iaquinta. Iaquinta has had his troubles with the UFC, taking a two-year hiatus from the sport from April of 2015 to April of 2017. In his return fight, Iaquinta faced off against future UFC Hall of Famer Diego Sanchez, whom he knocked out in just 98 seconds.
