Andrew Fisher Returns to Face Luis Palomino at ACB 88 in Brisbane, Australia

After a spell out with injury, England’s Andrew Fisher (17-8-1) will return to the cage against the highly experienced Luis Palomino (26-15) at ACB 88 in Brisbane, Australia.

Fisher, a veteran in his own right, has taken ACB by storm with two impressive victories since returning to the Russian promotion. Wins over Nicklas Backstrom and Akop Stepanyan were both huge upsets at the time and see the Sunderland native ranked in the top five promotional featherweights.

Palomino is suffering back to back losses to current champion Yusup Raisov and highly touted ‘newcomer’ Lom-Ali Eskijew. The Peruvian will be eager to get back to winning ways but knows he has a stern test in front of him.

With the belt changing hands in recent times, youngster Raisov claiming ACB gold, should Fisher be crowned victor, there is a possibility of a potential title shot. However, it will be a top 10 ranking at stake for “Baboon” who fell out of the rankings after consecutive losses.

The Team Fish Tank founder has always been fond of fighting in new and different locations and a trip to Australia will certainly be a stark contrast to his usual home of Europe. How he deals with the change of location and climate remains to be seen.

For Palomino, this is another demonstration of his willingness to fight anyone, anywhere, and is a testament to both the mindset of himself and the ACB matchmakers.
