Antonio Rogerio Nogueira Targeted for Return vs Sam Alvey at UFC São Paulo
Antonio Rogerio Nogueira hasn’t fought since November 2016 due to injuries and being flagged by USADA but after complying with doping suspension, in which he was able to prove that it occurred due to contamination of supplement, “Minotouro” now has an Octagon return date. He will face Sam Alvey at light heavyweight in UFC São Paulo on September 22, per Combate.com.
The Brazilian legend is 22-8, but has gone through a rough patch losing 3 of his last four fights. Most recently he was KO’d by Ryan Bader. Nogueira has been out so long Ryan Bader is now the Bellator Light-Heavyweight Champion and set to fight in their Heavyweight Grand Prix.
Alvey a tough veteran has gone 33-10-1. Unlike Minotouro, he has put together a nice winning streak with wins over Marcin Prachnio and Gian Villante.
