BAMMA 34: Mike Shipman forced to pull out from title defence due to injury
Current BAMMA 34 middleweight champion Mike Shipman has been forced to withdraw from his scheduled title defence against Johan Romming due to injury.
Since losing in his professional debut, ‘Sea Bass’ has gone on to enjoy a stellar career, winning all eleven of his fights; his latest victim being former BAMMA and EFC champion Yannick Bahati to take the title.
Shipman delivered a spectacular performance which saw him brutally knock the reigning champion out with a spinning back fist. Since, fans have been eager to see the Englishman return.
It was announced that the 185lb king would face Frenchman Johan Romming in London, being one of four title fights on the card. However, Shipman revealed the news that he will not be fighting on the opening card of the year for BAMMA.
In a twitter update, Shipman informed fans that he was off the card due to injury, but would be happy for the fight to be rebooked in the near future.
Unfortunately I have had to pull out of my March fight with @JoggiAiRomming due to injury. It is an inevitable hazard of training in our sport and I am happy to rebook this fight when I am fit if that works for my opponent. Either way I will be back in action soon— Michael Shipman (@mikeshipmanMMA) February 10, 2018
