BAMMA and Bellator Announce Co-Promoted Event Set For December In The UK
BAMMA and Bellator announced today that they are partnering up once more to put on a show for their UK fans. The card is set to take place on December 15th at Metro Radio Arena in Newcastle and for the fans looking to attend, tickets go on sale Friday October 6.
The entire card for the December 15, Bellator-BAMMA event has yet to be announced but they did drop some names of fighters who will be fighting that night. Michael McDonald and Valerie Létourneau will make their Bellator debuts. Other regional stars set to be in action are Colin Fletcher, Ryan Scope and Aaron Chalmers. Scope has confirmed via his Twitter account that he will be facing former UFC fighter, Mickael Lebout.

The two promotions first collaborated together when they held 2 events which were held alongside each other in Dublin, Ireland on December 16 of last year. Bellator 169 was headlined by “King Mo” Lawal versus Satoshi Ishii and BAMMA 27 was headlined by Tom DuQuesnoy versus Alan Philpott in a Bantamweight title fight. Bellator had five fights and BAMMA had eight fights, giving their fans 13 action packed Mixed Martial Arts fights from two different promotions on the same night in the same arena.
Bellator and BAMMA would then hold another event together, this time in Belfast, Ireland on February 24th of this year from the SSE Arena. Bellator 173 was headlined by Liam McGeary vs. Brett McDermott and BAMMA with Norman Parke vs. Paul Redmond in a fight that was supposed to be for the lightweight title but Parke missed weight and so because he won the fight, the title stayed vacant. BAMMA had four title fights that night including Parke vs. Redmond.
Bellator and BAMMA will co-promote another card in Dublin on November 10th which will be the third time the two promotions will work together. Andy Young will defend his Flyweight title against Daniel Barez in the co-main event. Tim Barnett will face Richie Smullen for the Lightweight title and Alex Lohore will take on Richard Kiely for the Welterweight title. In the main event, Irish star James Gallagher will face Jeremiah Labiano in what is sure to be a Featherweight scrap. Also on the card, top prospect A.J. McKee will take on Jeremy Petley.
It is safe to say that these cards which are co-promoted between two of the biggest MMA promotions in the world are great for the sport, the fighters and the fans. Both BAMMA and Bellator are giving their fans fights to look forward to along with big name fighters from the area in which the cards are being held. Events co-promoted between the two promotions have done well in the past and will continue to do well as long as they keep putting on solid shows as they have been.
