Bellator 192 Results: Michael Chandler Grinds out Prospect Goiti Yamauchi
Michael Chandler lost his belt back at Bellator NYC in weird fashion. Brent Primus caught a nerve with a leg kick and the ref had to call the fight off after a mishap with the stool. In another weird happening, he didn’t want an immediate rematch to get his belt back instead taking on up and coming Goiti Yamauchi. Yamauchi a submission specialist did just that back at Bellator 183 when he choked out Adam Piccolotti in the first round.
Both fighters feeling each other early and exchanging leg kicks a tie up and Chandler throws Yamauchi to the mat. Before he can get up the former champion jumps into side control but Yamauchi moves to guard potentially a dangerous place for Chandler. Unable to get off his back the up and coming prospect ate ground and pound. Hard elbows landing as the first round ended.

A hook kick to the face stunned chandler as he tried to shake it off and Yamauchi went in for a flying knee. Getting tagged up along the fence Chandler tried to circle out then landed a nice combo of his own to push the prospect back. Following that up with a takedown and once again to his guard. Once again the round ending in ground and pound.
Chandler timed a nice overhand right that landed flush. The ref stepped in after Yamauchi was caught with an eye poke. They resumed and Chandler got yet another takedown. Heavy ground and pound opened up Yamauchi as he had no answer.
Michael Chandler def. Goiti Yamauchi via unanimous decision (30-26, 30-26, 30-25)
