Bellator 206 Results: Aaron Pico Brutalizes Toughest Test to Date
When it was announced that Aaron Pico was slated to take on Leandro Higo, 22 fight MMA veteran and former Bellator title challenger, it was met with much pause considering Pico held a mere 3-1 overall record. On the Main Card of Bellator 206, Pico proved the doubters wrong as he absolutely crushes Leandro Higo in the opening frame via strikes.
The bout started with Pico coming out aggressive, looking to stalk Higo around the outside of the cage looking to trade and throwing with malicious intent behind every strike. Higo was tentative at first but two minutes into the bout the actions started to heat up with the duo trading wildly along the fence, Pico winging hard body shots at his Brazilian opponent. Mid round, Pico connected on a vicious right hand that sent Higo crashing to the mat and never let his opponent off the hook.
Pico followed to the ground, unloading heavy ground and pound shots looking for a stoppage. Higo looks out of it but somehow works his way up off of his back. Higo stumbles away, falling right back to the mat and Pico swarms, finally prompting referee Mark Smith to move in for the stoppage. Pico earns his 4th win in a row. Each and every one by way of knockout.
