Bellator 208: Anatoly Tokov outworks Alexander Shlemenko to decision victory

Bellator 208 had plenty of potentially violent fights throughout, but none on paper more explosive than that of the bout between Alexander Shlemenko (56-11 1NC) and Anatoly Tokov (26-2).

Coming off of two straight losses (including one outside of the promotion), Shlemenko looked to rebound against his fellow countryman.

Conversely, Tokov entered the bout riding a two fight wins streak in Bellator with wins over Vladimir Filipovic and Francisco France.

There was plenty of spinning sh** to go around in the fight, as Shlemenko and Tokov hurled powerful shots at each other for the majority of the first round. As the fight, both combatants began to slow, — their power still on point.

Against the odds, the bout between the two Russians went the distance. For the entirety of the fight, Tokov edged Shlemenko on the feet, and was able to drag the former Bellator MMA champion to the ground on a couple of occasions.

RESULT: Anatoly Tokov def. Alexander Shlemenko by unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27)
