Bellator 208: Benson Henderson victorious in entertaining co-main event

Saturday night, two experienced veterans who know how to put on a show competed against one another — and they did just that! Benson Henderson and Saad Awad clashed in a back-and-forth affair

After exchanging on the feet, the fight hit the mat where both fighters were able to scramble into advantageous positions. While Awad had his moments, Henderson appeared to win the round with his control.

The second round was a more dominant one for “Bendo”. After taking Awad to the mat, Henderson nearly locked an arm triangle choke in before the buzzer sounded.

After eating a big shot from Awad in the third, Henderson dragged the fight to the mat once again. Shortly thereafter, referee Rob Hinds stood the fighters up due to an illegal cage grab by Henderson.

The fight ended with Henderson once again seeking a submission — this time, a rear-naked choke from the back.

RESULT: Benson Henderson (26-8) def. Saad Awad (23-10) by unanimous decision (30-27, 30-26, 30-26 )
