Breaking: Titan FC Goes to Kazakhstan for Titan FC 51
Titan FC, a south Florida MMA promotion partnered with UFC Fight Pass, has issued a blockbuster announcement. Below is the press release in full, first reported by Eric Kowal of MyMMANews:
“Titan Fighting Championship has partnered with Kazakhstan based Alem Fighters to exclusively promote live events in Kazakhstan.
The first event will be Titan FC 51 and will be held December 21 at the Almaty Arena in Almaty and will be the promotion’s first show out of country in the organization’s 50 previous events.
“The growth of Titan FC is truly exciting and will continue into an exclusive partnership with Alem Fighters to develop talent and promote live events in Kazakhstan. I recently spent time in Kazakhstan and was truly impressed by the warrior culture and national passion for combat sports. I’m excited to showcase Kazakhstan’s rising MMA stars to the world,” said Titan FC COO Lex McMahon.
Titan FC 51 will feature fighters from the United States, Brazil, Cuba, Venezuela, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, The Netherlands, and Russia and the fight card will feature two title bouts.
“The partnership with Titan FC will help us to show the world the amazing MMA talent we have here in Kazakhstan as well as highlighting the Kazakh culture, two things I am very proud of. I’m excited for Titan FC to bring world class MMA to Kazakhstan and for the role Alem Fighters will play in working with Titan FC,” said Alem Fighters Director Ardak Nazarov.
Titan FC 51 will be broadcast digitally in over 150 countries on UFC Fight Pass as well on both of Kazakhstan’s national television networks: Astana and CaspioNet.
Current Titan FC 51 fight card:
- Main event is Beibit Nazarov (14-3) vs. Martin Brown (12-5) in a lightweight interim title bout
- Co-main event is Juan Puerta (15-6) vs. Ashimov Kazbek (13-3) for vacant flyweight title
- Feature bout #1 Luis Gomez (6-2) vs. Herbert Burns (6-2) Featherweight bout
- Feature bout #2 Michael Graves (6-1-2) vs. Gregg Ellis (4-0) Welterweight bout
More bouts to be announced shortly.”
Via a press release, the promotion’s fifty-first event will take place in Almaty, Kazakhstan, on December 21.
This will be the first Titan FC event since the promotion’s massive fiftieth show, which took place in June of this year. Titan FC 51 will mark the first time that the organization has gone overseas, and ushers in a new partnership deal with Alem Fighters.
Alem Fighters, a top MMA gym in the nation of Kazakhstan, will co-promote the events with the organization overseas. Alem Fighters is also the gym of Beibit Nazarov (14-3, 2-1 TFC), a top prospect and multiple-time Titan veteran.
The card for Titan FC 51, as it currently stands, features the four bouts listed above. The aforementioned Nazarov will fight for the interim lightweight title in the main event in his homeland, and Herbert “The Blaze” Burns (6-2), the brother of UFC standout Gilbert Burns, will compete for the first time inside the promotion’s cage.
Juan Puerta, who recently defeated fan-favorite Gustavo Balart, will face Ashimov Kazbek, another Kazakh standout, for the flyweight title made vacant upon Jose “Shorty” Torres‘ UFC signing.
This partnership seems to signal a growing international presence for Titan FC and should lead to a wave of Kazakh signings from the promotion.
