EXCLUSIVE: Damien Brown vs. Frank Camacho Targeted for UFC Sydney

Australian lightweight Damien “Beatdown” Brown (17-10, 2-2 UFC) (will once again have a homecoming bout in the UFC.  UFC Fight Night: Sydney will mark the third time that 32-year-old Albury native will be able to compete in his home country.

MMA Today has learned from multiple sources that the UFC is targeting a bout between Brown and Northern Mariana Islander Frank “The Crank” Camacho (20-5,0-1 UFC) for their return to Sydney.  The 28-year-old Camacho impressed in his short notice UFC debut, fighting at welterweight to take on a tough opponent in Li Jingliang at UFC Fight Night: Singapore.  Camacho was a solid underdog, but took the fight to “The Leech” rocking him at multiple points throughout the fight.  Despite his efforts, Camacho lost the fight via unanimous decision.  He will look to pick up his first UFC win in his UFC lightweight debut on November 18th against Brown.

Brown was last seen at UFC Fight Night: Auckland earlier this year, when he was knocked out by Vinc Pichel in the first round.  Prior to the Pichel loss, Brown was riding a two-fight win streak with victories over Jon Tuck and Cesar Arzamendia to his credit.  Both men will look to get back in the win column when they square off in Sydney.

Stay tuned to MMA Today for any updates, news, or announcements on Damien Brown vs. Frank Camacho.

UFC Fight Night: Sydney takes place November 18th at the Qudos Bank Arena in Sydney, Australia.  The card will air live on Fox Sports 1 in the United States.  Currently, the card is headlined by former UFC Heavyweight Champion Fabricio Werdum as he takes on Polish up-and-comer Marcin Tybura.
