EXCLUSIVE: Jeremy Kennedy vs. Alex Volkanovski Added to UFC 221 in Perth

For second time this year, top UFC featherweight prospects are scheduled to square off in Australia.

UFC featherweights Jeremy Kennedy (11-0, 3-0 UFC) and Alex Volkanovski (16-1, 3-0 UFC) are finally going to fight.  Sources close to the situation tell MMA Today that the pair of top 155 pound prospects are scheduled to square off at UFC 221 in Perth, Australia.  The two combatants were supposed to fight earlier this year at UFC Fight Night: Sydney, but an injury to Kennedy forced the bout off of the card.  In place of Kennedy, Volkanovski handily defeated UFC newcomer Shane Young via unanimous decision.

Earlier this month,‘s Tom Taylor reported that the two were in talks to meet once again.  Following a series of provoking tweets from Jeremy Kennedy, it seems that Alex Volkanovski didn’t hesitate to jump on board.

Both fighters are undefeated in their UFC careers, each winning their first three bouts with the promotion.  Australia’s Volkanovski has dominated Yusuke Kasuya, Mizuto Hirota and Shane Young en route to the matchup with Kennedy.  “JBC” Kennedy on the other hand, has defeated Alessandro Ricci, Kyle Bochniak and Rony Jason in his trio of UFC bouts.
