UFC 234 is coming to Melbourne, Victoria, Australia on February 9th, 2019. The card with still many spots open the main event is headlined by Australia’s own, Robert Whittaker who will defend his title against the surging Kelvin Gastelum.
The event would add on an exciting bout in the flyweight (125-pounds) division. A source close to the scene has confirmed that New Zealand’s Kai Kara-France (18-7 MMA, 1-0 UFC) will take on Brazils Raulian Paiva (18-1 MMA, 0-0 UFC).
City Kickboxing product Kai Kara-France is coming off a successful UFC debut last December. Kai earned a $50,000 bonus in his UFC debut against Elias Garcia. Kai is riding a six-fight win streak and is looking to make another statement in the flyweight division as the division is up in the air.
Raulin Paiva has an impressive record of 18 wins with only 1 defeat and only 23-years-old. The Brazilian is on a massive 12-fight win streak and this past Summer he appeared on Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series Brazil. He went the distance with Allan Nascimento taking a unanimous decision earning a contract with the win.
