EXCLUSIVE: Manny Bermudez vs. Davey Grant in the Works for UFC Liverpool
With eleven fights announced (officially and unofficially) for UFC Liverpool, there aren’t a many slots left to fill. The card is packed with some of the United Kingdom’s finest fighters including Darren Till, Gunnar Nelson, and Arnold Allen. On Thursday evening, MMA Today confirmed with sources that yet another Brit is expected to be competing on the promotion’s debut in Liverpool.
Multiple sources tell MMA Today a bout between bantamweights Manny Bermudez (12-0, 1-0 UFC) and Davey Grant (8-3, 1-2 UFC) is in the works for the May 27 event.
A highly-touted prospect coming in to the UFC, Bermudez made his UFC debut earlier this year, submitting Albert Morales in the second round. While his stand up still is deemed a bit green by some, Bermudez has proved to have one of the best submission arsenals in the bantamweight division.
His opponent, “Dangerous” Davey Grant has been out of action since October of 2016. He last competed at UFC 204, where he was defeated by Polish bantamweight Damian Stasiak. Grant will look to get back to his winning ways as he welcomes Bermudez to his home country.
