EXCLUSIVE: UFC Welterweights Bobby Nash, Kenan Song To Square Off in Shanghai
Being just a little over two weeks away, UFC Fight Night: Shanghai still needs a few more bouts to complete its lineup. MMA Today has learned today that the promotion has gotten one step closer to the finish line with the addition of UFC veteran welterweight Bobby Nash (8-3, 0-2 UFC) and new UFC signee, China’s own Kenan Song (12-4, 0-0 UFC).
Bobby Nash has had a tough go thus far in the UFC, dropping both of his bouts by knockout. Despite losing both fights, Michigan’s Nash had his moments in each of the fights against two tough fighters in Li Jingliang and Danny Roberts.
Despite getting a UFC contract offer, Kenan Song has also been on a bit a skid as of late, losing his last two bouts before being signed to the promotion. This is an unusual move by the UFC, signing a fighter coming off a loss (never mind two). He’ll be looking to prove his doubters wrong and show he belongs in the UFC come November 25th.
UFC Fight Night: Shanghai takes place November 25th from the Mercedes-Benz Arena in Shanghai, China. The card marks the first UFC event held on mainland China and will air live on UFC Fight Pass in the United States. The card is currently headliner by former UFC Middleweight Champion Anderson Silva and top UFC middleweight contender Kelvin Gastelum.
