EXCLUSIVE: Garrett Gross vs. Roosevelt Roberts slated for Contender Series

Sources close to MMA Today confirm that veteran Garret Gross will take on young prospect Roosevelt Roberts. The fight will take place in the TUF gym in Las Vagas, Nevada in front of Sean Shelby, Mick Maynard, and president Dana White on the hit UFC Fight Pass show Contender Series.

Fighting out of Du Quoin, Illinois, Garret Gross holds a professional record of 11-7 and is currently on a four-fight win streak. Gross trains out of Sabens Martial Arts Academy and is ranked at #53 out of the US Midwest per Tapology.

At 29-years-old, Gross is a veteran of the Shamrock FC promotion out of Missouri. He has also fought for Bellator MMA twice going 1-1 for the promotion.

Across the octagon from Gross will be Roosevelt “GoGetta” Roberts, fighting out of Lathrop, California. Roberts went 6-1 as an amateur and is currently 5-0 as a pro.

Roberts is still young at 25-years-old and has won many titles– two as an amateur and one as a professional (California Xtreme Fighting). He also took a fight for Bellator MMA in his last bout and won via TKO in round one over a tough test in Tommy Aaron.
