Gym-O’s fighters are coming to Italy, three matches in the works for Venkon Fight Night 2.
Update: this story originally stated that Chase Gamble’s opponent was Giuseppe Ruotolo. Venkon FC, though, just officially announced that Giuseppe Ruotolo will face Cody Jones.
Chase Gamble will face Leon Aliu, per sources.
If you happen to pass by Gastonia, North Carolina, you could drop by Gym-O, a facility located at 2311 on Lowell Road. From this gym, a group of athletes is ready to travel to raise hell in the cage that will be set up at Live Music Club in Trezzo sull’Adda (Milan), Italy for Venkon Fight Night 2.
One of the three matches that will feature the American athletes has already been announced by the fighter himself on his Facebook page.
Dylan Cala (5-1 according to Tapology) is the current Bantamweight champion of US promotion Valor Fights, a title he won by TKO over Chris Wright at Valor Fights 41. After that he was scheduled to compete for the important Texan promotion Legacy Fighting Alliance to avenge his only defeat against Tony Gravely, but the match never came to fruition.
Cala, though, is now ready to get back in the cage and will do so for the Italian promotion Venkon Fighting Championship. On January 21st, 2018, in fact, he will face Italian Bantamweight Gionata Gensini (5-6).
Dylan’s, though, is not the only match currently scheduled for the January 21st card; multiple sources have confirmed to MMA Today that two of his training partners are ready to make it a tough night for local fighters as well.
Mark Trader (2-1 according to Tapology) will face #7 ranked among Italian Featherweights, Mattia Galbiati (3-3), a Venator FC veteran, coming off a recent defeat for the British promotion Cage Warriors caused by a surgical knee scored by Welsh prospect Jack Shore.
Trader too is coming off a loss for the New England promotion CES MMA. Both athletes are ready to battle to get back in the Win column.
The last member of the American trio traveling to Italy is Chase Gamble (4-3 according to Tapology), who is a coach at Gym-O, like Cala. Gamble will face Italian-Albanian light heavyweight Leon Aliu (5-0). Chase is coming off two consecutive wins, one of which for LFA, and will try to continue his current win streak.
We are awaiting for all three matches to be officially announced by the promotion, if
confirmed, they will be added to a card that is shaping up to be really interesting and will
feature, among others Giorgio Pietrini vs. John Maguire and Alessandro Botti vs. Derrick Kennington.
