Heavyweights Cyril Asker and James Mulheron to Clash at UFC Shanghai

Being just a little over a month away, UFC Fight Night: Shanghai still needs a few more bouts to complete its lineup.  Today, the UFC’s debut in mainland China got one step closer to filling its lineup with the addition of two European heavyweights.

France’s Cyril Asker (8-3, 1-2 UFC) will square off with the United Kingdom’s James Mulheron (11-0, 0-1 UFC) in a heavyweight tilt that take place on the preliminary portion of the card.  Asker will look to rebound after dropping his last fight against Walt Harris at UFC Fight Night: Singapore.  Like Asker, Mulheron is also coming off a loss.  Back in July, Mulheron dropped a decision to Justin “Big Pretty” Willis at UFC Fight Night: Glasgow.  Both men may have their backs up against the wall heading into this one, so expect them to both come in fully prepared.

Mulheron has decided to up his preparation for his sophomore UFC appearance, packing up his things and moving to the United States to train for the first time.  For this camp he’ll be in good hands, training at AKA in San Jose with the likes of former and current UFC champions such as Cain Velasquez, Daniel Cormier and Luke Rockhold.
