KSW Flyweight Champion Ariane Lipski Set To Defend Strap Against Mariana Morais At KSW 40
KSW 40 is set to take place on October 22 from the 3 Arena in Dublin, Ireland. The card is already stacked with veteran fighters, up-and-comers, and big names in European MMA. There is already 1 championship fight on the card when Mateusz Gamrot puts his Lightweight title on the line against Norman Parke. Today, KSW added another title fight, Women’s Flyweight champion Ariane “The Violence Queen” Lipski will defend her belt against fellow Brazilian Mariana Morais.
The champion Ariane Lipski (9-3) is on a 7 fight win streak going back to June of 2015. In those 7 fights, 3 have been in the KSW promotion. “The Violence Queen” won the vacant Flyweight title at KSW 39 in May of this year by beating her opponent Diana Belbita with an armlock in the 1’st round. In her 12 fights, only 3 have gone to the judges, more times than not, Lipski will end the fight by strikes, hence the nickname “The Violence Queen”.
Mariana Morais (12-4) is a young up-and-coming Brazilian fighter who has won her last 2 fights in the Curitiba Top Fight promotion. Morais is a fighter who will finish her fights. From her 12 wins, 11 have come from strikes or submission with only 1 going to decision. Although the fight with Lipski may be her toughest to date, Morais fought Roxanne Modafferi at Invicta FC 14, where she would lose in the 3rd round via punches.
Lipski and Morais were set to fight at Immortal FC 4 in May of 2016 but the bout was canceled. Lipski would go on to fight on that card and would beat Juliana Werner by KO.
