Marcin Held has had a tough run within the UFC since joining in late 2016, after an impressive 11-3 run with Bellator. Losses to UFC mainstays, Diego Sanchez and Joe Lauzon, were compounded when he lost in violent fashion to Bosnian fighter, Damir Hadzovic, at the recent UFC Fight Night 109 card in Stockholm. Sweden.

Sitting at an unflattering 0-3 in the UFC, Gdansk may be Held’s last opportunity to keep himself on the roster.

While nothing official has been announced, it is assumed, given social media posts, that Held’s opponent will be 1-2 (UFC) Finnish fighter, Teemu Packalen. Packalen was most recently dealt a blow to his fighting aspirations as he lost to UK prospect, Marc Diakiese, when Diakiese dealt Packalen a devastating overhand right early in the contest.

If this is the fight that gets made then Marcin Held will undoubtedly be the favourite going in.

Stay tuned to MMA Today for further updates.

Update have confirmed our initial suspicions. Although still not official, it appears Held’s opponent will be Teemu Packalen.
