Prophetic Prospects: UFC 227 Predictions

Karl Reed (4-1) Light-heavyweight prospect out of Simpsonville, South Carolina

135, TJ Dillashaw vs. Cody Garbrandt
125, Demetrious Johnson vs. Henry Cejudo
145, Cub Swanson vs. Renato Moicano
115, JJ Aldrich vs. Polyana Viana
185, Thiago Santos vs. Kevin Holland
Picks:
Cody Garbrandt. I’m going with NoLove (and not because he is a friend and we went to the same college in Newberry South Carolina). I believe the first round of the last fight is what we will see for five rounds if it goes that long. TJ will have his moments but I see Cody being patient and letting TJ dance and faint on the outside and when he comes in, Cody will light him up with his counters and hand speed. Cody has the best boxing in the UFC and knockout power to go along with it. I think the first fight he got too caught up in the rivalry and selling the fight and found himself getting away from his game plan. Also, let’s not forget before that fight Cody was sidelined for almost a year with a back injury before he got into a training camp. All and all, I see Cody coming back to form and outclassing TJ with the sweet science of basic boxing!
Demetrios Johnson. Hard to pick against the most technical guy in the sport at the moment in Demetrious Mighty Mouse Johnson. Cejudo has done all the right things; fixing his striking style by picking up a karate style (I would like to say I was the first one to try to blend karate x wrestling, but it makes me feel good to see a high-level wrestler like Cejudo to have the same idea and succeed at it). But I still don’t think it’s enough to cope with the overall game and experience of Mighty Mouse at the moment. This will be a more competitive fight than the first fight though.
Renato Carneiro. Man any other time I would go with Swanson, but I feel as though he is coming off two back to back loses and is not giving himself enough time to regroup and get back on the right track. I’m going with Carneiro with a fight of the night split decision win. Carneiro is tough and was on the verge of winning a close fight with no. 1 Contender Ortega. He also has a win over Jeremy Stephens, this is a great opportunity for him at the right time.
Polyana Viana. I’m taking Polyana. Her ground game is on another level, I don’t feel like Aldrich has enough striking and angles to keep Polyana off her if she decides to close the gap and take this fight to the ground.
Thiago Santos. I’m going with Santos, even though Holland has a good record and has even fought some Muay Thai fights, I believe Santos has the more experience and wins over tougher opponents. A few mistakes avoided and Santos is a Top 10 middleweight and he always responds after a loss.

Brendan Allen (9-3) Middleweight prospect out of Slidell, Louisiana

135, TJ Dillashaw vs. Cody Garbrandt
125, Demetrious Johnson vs. Henry Cejudo
145, Cub Swanson vs. Renato Moicano
115, JJ Aldrich vs. Polyana Viana
185, Thiago Santos vs. Kevin Holland
Picks:
Cody Garbrandt. I feel if he can keep the pace he will beat TJ. I feel Cody leaves his chin up in combo’s which is what got him caught last time. Honestly, it is whichever one lands first when Cody can’t control his emotions. Overall it will be a great fight in my opinion and both are great fighters.
Demetrious Johnson. I am a Cejudo fan but I feel DJ is the best to do it and doesn’t get the credit he deserves. I feel this is the last real test for DJ until my man Sergio Pettis comes.
Cub Swanson. I do feel that Moicano can pull off the victory but I just don’t know how he will be with this much “lights” on him against a very well known guy, it is a big test.
Polyana Viana.
Thiago Santos. I am gonna say Santos will probably win but I would like to see Holland win.

what do you think about a future possible match-up with Santos and Holland?

Allen ” I am super focused on my upcoming opponent but I am game to fight anyone. If I come in calm and have fun and perform I can beat anyone in the world and I truely believe that.”

Sean Brady (8-0) Welterweight prospect out of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

135, TJ Dillashaw vs. Cody Garbrandt
125, Demetrious Johnson vs. Henry Cejudo
145, Cub Swanson vs. Renato Moicano
115, JJ Aldrich vs. Polyana Viana
185, Thiago Santos vs. Kevin Holland
Picks:
Cody Garbrandt
Demetrious Johnson
Cub Swanson
Polyana Viana
Thiago Santos

Kelvin Tiller (10-1) Heavyweight prospect out of Topeka, Kansas

135, TJ Dillashaw vs. Cody Garbrandt
125, Demetrious Johnson vs. Henry Cejudo
145, Cub Swanson vs. Renato Moicano
115, JJ Aldrich vs. Polyana Viana
185, Thiago Santos vs. Kevin Holland
Picks:
Cody Garbrandt. He’s explosive and has great cardio.
Demetrious Johnson. He’s Demetrious Johnson.
Cub Swanson. Unorthodox style and hard to deal with.
JJ Aldrich
Thiago Santos

Alex Gorgees (5-0) Lightweight prospect out of Sydney, Australia

135, TJ Dillashaw vs. Cody Garbrandt
125, Demetrious Johnson vs. Henry Cejudo
145, Cub Swanson vs. Renato Moicano
115, JJ Aldrich vs. Polyana Viana
185, Thiago Santos vs. Kevin Holland
Picks:
Cody Garbrandt. I think Cody’s going to win first round tko, seeing how their last fight went he had him hurt at the end of the first round and the bell had gone. I think Cody’s going to be more aggressive this fight and really swing for it.
Demetrious Johnson. Seeing how their last fight went, I don’t see Henry beating Demetrious anywhere. Decision or a late finish in the end rounds!
Cub Swanson. The mentality is always to finish or be finished, I think if it hits past the first he wins.
Polyana Viana. I’ve got Polyana to win 3 round decision.
Thiago Santos
