It appears that highly touted Russian middleweight, Ramazan Emeev (15-3, 0-0 UFC) has signed with the Ultimate Fighting Championship, sources tell MMA Today. Dennis Geyko of RT.news was the first to announce the news in late June. Today, MMA Today has learned that the former M-1 Middleweight Champion finally has a date and opponent for his debut. Sources close to the situation tell MMA Today that the 30 year-old will debut at UFC Fight Night: Gdansk this October against nine-fight UFC veteran Trevor “Hot Sauce” Smith (15-7, 5-4 UFC).
Emeev is currently riding a four fight win streak, most recently defeating Anatoly Tokov this past December at M-1 Challenge 73. Emeev has only been defeated once since late 2010, racking up five submission and three knock outs in that time. His opponent, Trevor “Hot Sauce” Smith has been a tough outing for any of his opponents, winning three out of his last four bouts, including wins against Dan Miller, Joe Gigliotti and, most recently, Chris Camozzi.
