Sodiq Yusuff and Suman Mokhtarian Bout Added to UFC Adelaide

Another Contender Series alum gets his first fight in the Octagon. This time it is Sodiq Yusuff. Yusuff will face off against Suman Mokhtarian at UFC Adelaide on December 1st.

“Super” Sodiq Yusuff, who is 7-1, put on a banger of a fight in season 2 of Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series. He and Mike Davis our on a show for viewers which Yusuff won via unanimous decision. It was a rare signing for Yusuff to get a contract after going to decision. The Contender Series generally looks for a finish in a contract winner.

Suman Mokhtarian is undefeated at 8-0 and will be looking to upset Yusuff in his home country. Mokhtarian has six submission victories in his eight career wins.

It’s worth mentioning that Yusuff’s lone loss was to Luis Gomez via a slam and punches. Stylistically, this fight could be interesting if Mokhtarian can get it to the ground.

Yousuff and Mokhtarian joined a packed card headlined by two heavyweight showdowns. The co-main event boasts Mark Hunt’s last fight in the UFC against Justin Willis. The main event has a huge matchup between prospect Tai Tuivasa and former heavyweight champ, Junior Dos Santos.

Along with the main and co-main event, Adelaide is joined by fellow Contender Series alum, Jim Crute. Crute, who was also picked up in season 2, is slated to face Paul Craig on the same card.

The Contender Series has been wildly popular on Fight Pass finding new talent for the UFC. Series three is set to appear on ESPN’s new streaming service, ESPN+.
