Strawweight Bout Between Randa Markos, Juliana Lima in the Works for UFC on FOX 27

UFC on Fox 27 in Charlotte, North Carolina looks to be getting it’s second fight as MMA Today’s own Farah Hannoun reports that Randa Markos and Juliana Lima are set to square off.

Both fighters are coming off of losses in their most recent UFC outings. For the Canadian Markos, it was a close and somewhat controversial split decision to Alexa Grasso at UFC: Mexico City last August. It was a fight that Markos felt she deserved to win so she will be looking to make a statement against Lima.

Unable to get a win streak going during her UFC thus far (excluding her time on The Ultimate Fighter 20), Markos (7-5 MMA, 3-4 UFC) and has been a staple in the UFC Strawweight rankings since their birth. “Quiet Storm” has the most fights in the division (7).

The Brazilian Lima (9-4 MMA, 3-3 UFC) and has only lost to some of the division’s best in Tecia Torres and former champions, Joanna Jedrzejczyk and Carla Esparza.

Some little fun facts about this matchup: Lima has never fought a Canadian and Markos has never fought a Brazilian. Markos has defeated Esparza and Torres (although it was an exhibition) who both defeated Lima. Neither fighter has won via finish in the UFC (excluding TUF).
