UFC Argentina Recap: Marlon Chito Vera changes momentum in 2nd round, submits Guido Cannetti
In the only bantamweight bout of the card, it will be between two UFC veterans. Marlon Chito Vera (13-5-1 MMA, 5-4 UFC) would take on Guido Cannetti (8-3 MMA, 2-2 UFC) both coming off wins. Argentina’s own, Cannetti taking on his toughest foe to date in Vera as he was a +220 underdog in this bout. Both were on the same season of The Ultimate Fighter Latin America as teammates and now years later they will do battle against each other.
In the opening round of the fight, Cannetti was the aggressor but would slip briefly to the mat after throwing a knee. Cannetto shortly after that got a nice brief takedown after he landed a flurry of strikes to get to the inside. Vera would control the clinch to slow Cannetti down but the Argentinian got another takedown. Cannetti coasted for the last minute of the round.

2nd round it was Vera pressing forward throwing the flying knee to close the distance to land two big knees in the Thai clinch dropping Cannetti. The momentum changed quickly and as Vera did fail on a guillotine attempt, Cannetti decided to stand back on the feet. Vera pressed forward and landed a barrage of uppercuts, punches, and knees before getting the takedown and locking in the rear-naked-choke. Marlon Vera defeated Guido Cannetti at 1:31 of round 2.
