UFC Beijing Adds Yadong-Morales, Liu-Day Bantamweight Bouts
A fast-growing UFC Beijing (UFC Fight Night 141) card just deepened its pockets with the addition of two bantamweight bouts. In the first added bout, China’s Pingyuan Liu will take on Hawaiian Martin Day. Additionally, Frankie Saenz has suffered an injury and newcomer Vince Morales will step in to take on Song Yadong. UFC Beijing takes place on November 25, 2018 from the Cadillac Arena in Beijing, China.
Pingyuan Liu (14-4 MMA, 1-0 UFC) will look to build on a successful UFC debut. This past July, Liu defeated Poland’s Damian Stasiak with a unanimous-decision victory at UFC Hamburg. The win marked Liu’s ninth straight. The Chinese standout owns 10 finishes in 14 career victories. Liu has been training under the guidance of Urijah Faber at Team Alpha Male.
Liu will welcome a debuting UFC bantamweight in Martin Day (9-2 MMA, 0-0 UFC). After a close, decision loss to Jamie Alvarez on the first season of Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series, Day has rattled off three straight wins, all in 2018. Most recently, Day scored a second-round TKO over the previously-unbeaten Brady Huang this past August. The 28-year-old becomes another UFC signee to come out of the growing MMA breeding ground of Hawaii.
China’s Song Yadong (13-4 MMA, 2-0 UFC) is still just 20-years-old and will look to go a perfect three-for-three at the event. Yadong quickly submitted Bharat Khandare last November then followed up with a spectacular standing elbow TKO of Felipe Arantes this past June at UFC Singapore. Yadong has been doing his training camps with the ultra-tough Team Alpha Male in Sacramento.

With Frankie Saenz out, UFC newcomer Vince Morales (8-2 MMA, 0-0 UFC) gets an opportunity after failing to earn a victory this past summer on Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series. After a back-and-forth war of a first round, Morales was submitted by Domingo Pilarte in the second. Pilarte went on to earn the UFC contract but has yet to make his debut. Following the loss, Morales recently picked up a decision victory over Justin Hugo (3-4 MMA) at Bellator 205.
