UFC Fresno Results: Eryk Anders Dominates Markus Perez in LFA Champs Showdown
Eryk Anders remains undefeated and moves to 2-0 in the UFC following a dominant unanimous decision victory over short notice replacement Markus Perez. Anders went in looking to display his evolution as an MMA fighter, working over Perez with a stifling wrestling game and heavy ground and pound. Anders showed excellent discipline and cardio throughout, hurting Perez in each of three rounds with heavy knees, overhand punches and elbows from the guard. Perez came in on short notice and looked strong early on, firing off unorthodox spinning attacks and looping elbows and uppercuts. He managed to land a takedown early on but failed to secure a finish with the position.
Through the 2nd and 3rd frame, Anders was content stalking Perez around the Octagon, giving his opponent no room to work and looking to load up on the left hand. He looked strong in the clinch, muscling Perez around and as the fight wore on, landing takedowns seemingly at will where he was able to get into position and land heavy ground and pound which had Perez in trouble on multiple different occasions and opened up a cut along the eye of the UFC newcomer.

Post-fight Anders made it clear who he wanted next. “I’m a fan of going into a hostile environment. The UFC is going to Brazil in February. Lyoto Machida, what’s up? Let’s make this thing happen, baby!” Anders comes out of Fresno, California with his second UFC win, one where he was able to display a more complete game as well as a possible opponent at UFC Fight Night: Belem in February. The future is bright for Eryk Anders, as he remains undefeated at 10-0.
