UFC Glendale Bonuses: Poirier and Gaethje Win Fight of the Night, Cowboy and Wieczorek Get POTN
A lot of times, fights outside of the main event steal the show and provide the most excitement. That wasn’t the case in UFC Glendale, and the all-action fighters of the main event didn’t disappoint. The advantage shifted between Dustin Poirier and Justin Gaethje over four rounds until Poirier stunned Gaethje with a left hand to set up a strong finish, and the effort put in by both fighters will earn each of them a $50,000 bonus. It was an easy decision, with the fight staying off of the mat and providing the kind of striking that many fans love to see.

After stepping up to replace Matt Brown on short notice and forcing Carlos Condit to tap to a guillotine choke, Alex Oliveira will go home with Performance of the Night money. The finish came in the second round and was a good comeback for Oliveira, who avoided being finished in the first round by Condit’s own choke. The other Performance of the Night bonus will go to Adam Wieczorek, who had a submission victory of a different kind. He used a rare omoplata submission to get the finish in round two, and did it against an undefeated fighter that was favored against him.
