UFC Mexico Results: Niko Price Stops Jouban Early to Remain Undefeated
After a very fast paced night of fighting it was Alan Jouban and Niko Price’s turn to go to war on the UFC Mexico main card. The stakes were high in this one, as a win for either man promised to push him up the rankings and closer to a fight with a ranked welterweight contender.
Jouban’s previous bout was an unfortunate one as ‘Brahama’ tapped out at the hands of Gunnar Nelson in his first chance against top ranked competition. Meanwhile, his opponent, Price, had been undefeated so far but had his KO win over Alex Morono at UFC Houston overturned to an NC due to a positive marijuana test.
Price came into the fight aggressive, chasing his opponent down and backing him up. Both fighters were throwing power into their shots. Jouban threw an outside leg kick and Price instantly countered with a powerful right hand that staggered “Brahma” followed by a head kick that sent him crashing to the canvas. Price then took the back and started landing heavy, leaving the ref no choice but to stop the fight as Jouban went face-first into the canvas.
