UFC Mexico Results: Rinaldi Pulls Off Von Flue Choke and Morales Wins Debut

Jordan Rinaldi vs Alvaro Herrera

In the first bout of the card, a battle in the Lightweight division as Jordan Rinaldi took on Alvaro Herrera. Rinaldi was looking to get his first UFC win after losing his debut on short notice against the well established Abel Trujillo back in May last year and was on a little more over a year layoff. Herrera the TUF Latin America season 2 contestant was 1-1 in the UFC and also coming back from a year layoff.
Crazy comeback win from Rinaldi is round 1 as he was caught coming in with a left hand behind the ear. Herrera would decide to pull guard for the anaconda choke but Rinaldi would escape. After the escape, Rinaldi quickly got the Von-Flue choke for the tap at 2:01 in the 1st round.

Joseph Morales vs Roberto Sanchez

In the final bout of the Fight Pass prelims, a fight between two newcomers in the Flyweight division as Joseph Morales took on Roberto Sanchez. Morales the latest fighter to compete on Dana White’s series “Looking for a Fight”. Morales is a product out of Team Alpha Male and undefeated at 8-0. Sanchez just won the LFA title back in June rightfully earning a UFC contract and came into this fight undefeated at 7-0.

Sanchez took no time getting the double leg takedown early in round 1. Morales used the guillotine to get back to his feet and Morales would stun Sanchez with a straight right dropping Sanchez.

Morales took the back and eventually ended the fight with an RNC at 3:56 of round 1.
