UFC signs Abubakar Nurmagomedov

It would be announced by top UFC Lightweight contender Khabib Nurmagomedov announced on his social media that his cousin Abubakar Nurmagomedov has signed to the UFC. Abubakar, known for his time in the World Series of Fighting (WSOF) promotion who went 5-0 for the organization. Abubakar beat fighters like Matt Secor (8-3), Matthew Frincu (7-1) and Danny Davis Jr. (11-9-1) on his way to holding a 14-1 record. His only loss is to UFC fighter Magomed Mustafaev (13-2 MMA, 2-1 UFC).


Also in Khabib’s post, he wrote that Abubakar will fight on February 3. That event will take place in Belem, Para Brazil in the Mangueirinho Gymnasium Arena. When it comes to opponents it’s still unknown but a couple days ago Ariel Helwani did say Abubakar and his team are campaigning hard to fight Sergio Moraes. There were rumors going on that Moraes wasn’t interested in fighting Abubakar, but all signs are now pointing to that bout.
