Undefeated Lightweight Gregor Gillespie vs. Jason Gonzalez added to UFC Pittsburgh
Per Craig Meyer of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, former amateur wrestling star Gregor Gillespie has signed on the dotted line to take on Jason Gonzalez on September 16th, UFC Pittsburgh.
Gillespie holds a perfect record of 9 wins, 0 losses. 2 of which have been in the UFC. In his debut with the promotion, Gillespie grappled his way to a decision win over TUF Brazil tournament champion Glaico França. His most recent bout was a brutal 1st round KO victory over Andrew Holbrook at UFC 210, which also bagged Gillespie a $50k Performance of the Night bonus:

Gonzalez also holds a decent record at 11 wins, 3 losses, with 1 win and 1 loss inside the Octagon. He’ll probably be the underdog here, but he is the more experienced guy coming into this fight. His most recent win was secured with a first round submission of J.C. Cottrell on Jan. 28.
The bout is slated for the undercard of UFC Fight Night 116 from Pittsburgh’s PPG Paints Arena. Topping the bill is a pivotal middleweight matchup between former UFC middleweight champ Luke Rockhold and multi-division WSOF kingpin Dave Branch.
