Weekly MMA Prospect Report: Only two prospects on deck with a short week
Way Of The Dragon Championships 3, Saturday. (Taiwan)
Light-heavyweight, Da Un Jung (9-2)
Jung trains out of Korean Top Team with the likes of some of the best Korean fighters in the world. Most of the better Korean prospect is the lighter weight guys but Jung stands apart from the other 205ers. He’s a striker who mainly focuses on his boxing first. Jung has a solid jab he fights behind and he is very quick on the release as his counter striking is solid as well. He also has good cardio and as footage lacks he does look to have a good future. He fights Abutalib Khalilov (4-0) who lacks footage.
Featherweight, Shaqueme Rock (3-0)
Rock is still young in his mma career but he has an extensive background in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Rock hasn’t shown a lot on the feet but he does like to kick with his long frame at 6’0″. His grappling though is top notch. His best weapon is his back takes but on the mat, in general, is where he wants to be. Rock has a 1005 finish rate as he even holds a rare python trap. He fights former UFC fighter Rocky Lee (4-4) who isn’t too good and Rock should get the finish.
