Welcome to the UFC: Jonathan Martinez
The UFC is coming to Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada later this October on the 27th. The card would take a hit as Gavin Tucker had to pull out of his bout with Andre Soukhamthath. The UFC, however, would bring in newcomer Jonathan Martinez to take the fight on short notice.

How will Jonathan Martinez fare in the UFC:
Martinez is a good prospect but with all the options to choose from, picking Martinez is just too soon as he’s still very young and hasn’t fought strong competition. On the feet, Martinez is fast and has solid kickboxing and footwork. With that said, he does lack combinations and at times will throw very little output. Martinez has also been taken down in the past but has shown he is dangerous off his back but going against more higher level fighters it could be a problem. “Dragon” is well-rounded but at a lower regional level he hasn’t looked apar but he’s young and could really develop into a promising fighter.
How does he match up with Andre Soukhamthath?
Don’t let the UFC record of 1-3 fool you on how good Soukhamthath really is at two of his losses are controversial and the other one was against the top up-and-comer in Sean O’Malley. Martinez is getting thrown a hardball here as Andre should easily win this fight in all areas but more so on the feet where Andre is so much more technical.
