It was made official when Dan Ige (8-1 MMA, 0-0 UFC) himself would announce on his twitter that he would be signed to the UFC. A date of his debut and a location is still unknown at the moment.

How I think Dan Ige does in the UFC:

Ige has a background in judo and wrestling doing it since he was a young kid. He holds a black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. The only loss on Ige’s record is a split-decision. Since that loss, he has gone and won his next six fights. Ige does have flaws as he is a good grappler and good once on top, but his wrestling is bland. Ige at times uses no setups on his takedowns but he is improving in that area. Ige showed big improvements in his last fight despite him showing a bit of weakness in his takedown defense. On the feet, Ige has been improving as shown in his previous bout landing crisp striking and showing some respected power in his hands. Even with the improved striking, Ige is at home on the mat and preferably on top position. Personally, I think Ige should have taken a couple more fights before signing to the UFC as I think for sure he can develop into a better fighter. But it may be too soon, then again if he is matched up well, he could grow as a fighter within in the company.
