Welcome to the UFC: Kenan Song

With the UFC heading to mainland China later this year, they would yet again bring in another newcomer to the event. Nolan King from MMA Today first reported the official signing and bout for Kenan Song, who will debut at UFC Fight Night: Shanghai November 25, 2017 against Bobby Nash.

How I see Kenan Song doing in the UFC:

This may be the first time I’ve ever recalled the UFC signing someone coming off two consecutive losses. Kenan Song (12-4 MMA, 0-0 UFC) doesn’t have much footage of him available, but I saw he had some decent wrestling with obviously a good submission base (he owns six submission wins). I will say I don’t expect Song to stay in the UFC too long at all. Even with a loss here, I believe he should be cut.

How Kenan Song matches up with Bobby Nash:

Bobby Nash (8-3 MMA, 0-2 UFC) is on a two-fight skid as well with good showings in both performances. He would just get caught in both outings which cost him. Nash still hits hard and is a good wrestler with only his chin holding him back. Of what I’ve seen from Song, he has shown vulnerable takedown defense and has been dropped. Song has the ability to put Nash away if he lands clean but I like Nash to get his first win.
