How I see Raoni Barcelos doing in the UFC:

At a time I was very high on Barcelos, as he is on a long layoff with this fight making it a year since his last bout but remains a top prospect. Barcelos is dangerous everywhere the fight goes. Striking-wise, Barcelos has a lot of power in his hands and has very good movement and precision. He is able to either light you up landing multiple shots or he can shut the lights out with one punch and his counter-striking is outstanding. Barcelos’ wrestling is outstanding, his level-changes are great along with some awesome ground-and-pound. Barcelos can be sloppy at times but that hasn’t been an issue at all so far in his career. I really like the potential of Barcelos as the only downfall is he’s 32. However, he has actually been improving each fight and I think he can give a lot of Featherweights problems in the UFC.

How I think Raoni Barcelos matches up with Boston Salmon:

Salmon is mainly a striker like Barcelos which makes this a very fun bout. Salmon’s advantages include speed, purer technique, sound head movement, and cleaner precision. Barcelos has more knockout power, more fluid combinations, precise counter-striking, and overall more weapons in his toolbox. This is a very close fight and I honestly have no idea who wins as they are both evenly matched but this should be on paper, fight of the night.

Watch these two square off October 28th, 2017 at the Ibirapuera Gymnasium from Sao Paulo, Brazil at UFC Fight Night 119 (UFC Sao Paulo). The card is headlined with #7 ranked Middleweight, Derek Brunson, who will take on unranked legend Lyoto Machida making his return to the octagon in a little over 2 years ago.
