Welcome to the UFC: Yadong Song
With the UFC heading to mainland China just next week, the card suffered a lost bout as Pingyuan Liu would be pulled from the card. @sayatmma would officially announce the new bout and the official signing of newcomer Yadong Song (10-4 MMA, 0-0 UFC), Who will debut at UFC Fight Night: Shanghai November 25, 2017 against Bharat Khandare (5-2 MMA, 0-0 UFC).

How I see Yadong Song doing in the UFC:
With all the questionable signings the UFC made for this Shanghai card, Song is one of the better ones. Song has one glaring issue. While he has effective striking with speed and power, his striking is wild. Song tends to swing wild hooks with nothing to set them up. He does not utilize an effective jab and hardly ever goes to the body. Song, 22, has a nice future if he tightens up his striking. Song has been taken down in fights but he does a very good job at never staying stationary. He has the ability to go for submissions off his back, but he really thrives in scrambles getting back to the feet and many times earning top position. Song has gone the distance five times and has shown some solid cardio hardly slowing down as the fight goes on. Song is really quick when it comes to his movement and striking so if he’d be a problem with improved footwork. On the mat Song has two submission victories proving he’s a threat there as he searches for a limbs and goes for the finish. I like Song but I don’t think he makes it far in the UFC. Despite being young and very green, he does have a bright future whether it’s inside or outside the UFC.
How I think Yadong Song matches up with Bharat Khandare:
This is a tough fight to pick as Khandare has the wrestling advantage whereas Song has an even bigger advantage on the feet. In order for Khandare to have the best chance of winning this contest, he’ll need to score takedowns early and often. Song has more ways to win as he isn’t one-dimensional like Khandare. Song is much quicker and his cardio is superior. That’s the key to victory here for Song. Expect a high-paced fight where both these guys come out hot. Don’t expect anything more than a sloppy fun fight here.
Watch these two square off November 25 at the Mercedes-Benz Arena in Shanghai, China for UFC Fight Night 122 — UFC Shanghai. The card is headlined by the #2-ranked middleweight Michael Bisping taking on the young and hungry #8-ranked Kelvin Gastelum.
