Former ACB Champ Petr Yan Moves One Step Closer To The UFC
Following recent reports from MMA Today’s Denis Geyko that uber-prospect and former ACB bantamweight champion, Petr Yan, will soon be signing with the UFC, it appears the deal is one step closer. Yan has officially signed with Ruby Sports & Entertainment, one of North America’s top management teams that call fighters such as Raphael Assuncao, Michael Chiesa, Mackenzie Dern, Jessica Rose-Clark and Sean O’Malley, clients.
It’s believed that Tiger Muay Thai based agent — where Yan spends the bulk of his training –, Sayat Abdrakhmanov, facilitated the signing between the parties.
Yan is currently rehabilitating from a nasty leg injury which required surgery. Once he has fully rehabilitated he will be available to sign with the UFC.
Yan currently sports an impressive 8-1 record over some of the region’s top bantamweights, including two incredibly entertaining scraps against nemesis, Magomed Magomedov.
Yan will undoubtedly be a coup for the UFC and their bantamweight division once the talented Russian finally signs.
